DSW Case Study


Recently, we had the pleasure of working with DSW on their recent campaign, “Best Foot Forward.” They needed a song that would be appealing to a broad audience, have relevant lyrics related to footwear, walking, and running, fit the visuals of their spot, and have the correct sound to match DSW’s brand guidelines. The catch? They wanted the song to be from a real artist, but wanted the ability to customize the track to make it lyrically and sonically perfect for their spot. Oh, and they needed all of this within a tight budget. Many clients often fear working with real artists and licensing existing music because they don’t believe real artists have the ability or willingness to customize or adjust their songs to fit a brand’s campaign. But with SoStereo, everything is possible.


We pitched many songs and artists with relevant styles and lyrics and we knew could customize their songs to fit the requirements. After careful consideration, DSW fell in love with “Walk Do The Talking” by Kali J. The lyrics were almost perfect for their campaign, and Kali J was more than willing to revamp the song to make it brief and adjust some lyrics to hit specific campaign themes.


Thanks to our collaboration with Kali J, the song was tailored to DSW’s campaign. The resulting piece communicated the desired message and had a catchy beat that resonated with their target audience. 

Moreover, DSW was impressed by Kali J’s creative input and wants to include her in their spot and use her as an influencer moving forward.
